MINUTES
MAY 08TH, 2012
Called to order 6:30 by Al Nassar
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:
• AL NASSAR – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

• JEFF DEGRANDPRE – MAYOR/BOARD MEMBER
• RICK MORRIS – BOARD MEMBER

2) Nothing was added or deleted to the agenda
3) David Tsu came to introduce himself to the foundation. He specializes in brand identity and
promotional products. Al gave him background information on the Foundation and the meeting
resumed.
4) Motion to approve minutes from 04/10/12 by Julie Reyes and seconded by Rick Morris. All in favor.
5) Committee Updates:
a) Rob Medrano will host a cigar night and will donate proceeds to ECF on August 25th. Al will have
more information at the next meeting.
b) Julie Reyes recommended the Board meeting and selling tickets at various locations within
Eastvale. David Tsu recommended selling through the little league to get more sales.
c) Al is looking for a quote for a stand up banner for events. Julie Reyes wants our new Facebook
page to go live as soon as possible.
d) None
e) Julie spoke with Bob VanNort –still waiting to find out about the funds for the grant. We will re-
visit this topic in July.
6) Randy would like to begin the planning process for a 5k/10k. Possible location can be in the Roosevelt
High Parking lot. Would include many vendors from various organizations. Randy would like to tie in
Autism as a source for raising money and helping those who have family members with Autism in our
community. Active is one potential major sponsor. April 6th for the date. Julie Reyes recommends a Save-
the-Date for cyclists in the City. Al is going to get a hold of Active. Jeff Motioned to approve this event.
Julie seconded. All in favor.
7) Motion to get more information from Bob regarding the Eastvale store by Julie, seconded by Al. All in
favor.
8) Julie gave a breakdown of finances. Please see her documents for details. Recommends finding an
annual fundraiser for larger income.
9) Directors Comments:
a) Julie researched the bus stop ads/shelters. $9k for the cheapest and up to $25k for a high end
one. Went over IRS paperwork—Julie has to provide more information.
b) Rick Morris resigned.
c) Al will write up a change to the by-laws to increase the number of board members.
10) No other business.
Next Meeting Date will be June 05th, 2012.
