4. PUBLIC COMMENT
This is the time when any member of the public may bring a matter to the attention of the Eastvale
Community Foundation that is within the jurisdiction of the Board. The Ralph M. Brown act limits the
Board Member’s ability to respond to comments on non-agendized matters at the time such comments are
made. Thus, your comments may be agendized for a future meeting. The Board Members may discuss or
ask questions for clarification, if desired, at this time. Public comment is limited to two (2) minutes each
with a maximum of six (6) minutes.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE EASTVALE
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION BOARD
Monday, September 21, 2015

1. CALL TO ORDER: 6:14 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Board Members present: Board Members Shardlow, Rush, Will Martinez (representing
Board Member Rodriguez), and Executive Director Link.
Board Members absent: Board Members Corrao, Coker, Marrs, and Welch.
Board Member Corrao arrived at 6:25 p.m.
Staff Members present: Recording Secretary Wuence.
The Pledge of Allegiance was presented by Board Member Shardlow.
3. PRESENTATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
There were no Presentations or Announcements.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT/CITIZEN PARTICIPATION:
Josh Lee, a new resident to Eastvale, noted that he is interested in helping the community
and getting involved.
Executive Director Link introduced Dawn Hook, who will be helping with the
Foundation website and Facebook page.
5. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO AGENDA:
There were no Additions/Deletions to the agenda.
At this time the Board changed the order of the agenda and addressed Item 7.1
7. BUSINESS ITEMS:
7.1 City Birthday Celebration
Recommendation: Receive verbal update from Executive Director Link.
Executive Director Link requested Board Members sign up to work the City
Birthday Celebration. She reviewed some of the merchandise available for sale.

She emphasized that Board representation would be needed at the Foundation
booth, as the Foundation is hosting the event.
She noted that there were over 100 vendors and more than 100 parade entries.
There was discussion regarding the beer vendor for the event. It was noted that
Budweiser would provide a truck.
There was discussion regarding parking and wristbands for volunteers and invited
guests.
Board Member Corrao arrived at 6:25 p.m.
There was discussion regarding the presentation of a large-sized check to present
to the City in the amount of $5000 for the Library fund. Board Member Corrao
would obtain a large-sized check to present.
7.2 Military Banner Update
Recommendation: Receive verbal update from Board Member Coker.
There was no update provided on this item.
8. BOARD MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS:
Executive Director Link shared an article by Safewise, ranking Eastvale among the top
50 safest cities, including a blurb about the Foundation.
Will Martinez stated that he was happy to be in attendance at the meeting representing
Assembly Member Linder’s office.
Board Member Shardlow noted that the ABC permit had not yet arrived. He noted that
his wife shared a photo of an Eastvale tumbler cup on Facebook and received lots of
positive comments about the cup.
Board Member Corrao noted that Dickson would be available for street sweeping after
the City Birthday Celebration. She also noted that the replica truck from Heil would be
participating in the Parade.
Board Member Rush inquired about the income and expenses and vendors for the City
Birthday Celebration. He also noted that he would meet with City Manager Nissen and
Deputy City Engineer Indrawan regarding the cell tower project. He noted that there still
had not been any communication from ATC or the cell providers.
At this time the Board returned to address Item 6.1

Recommendation: Approve the minutes from the August 17, 2015 Regular
Meeting.
Motion: Moved by Shardlow, seconded by Rush to approve the Minutes
from the August 17, 2015 Regular Meeting.
Motion carried 5-0 with Marrs, Welch, and Coker absent.
9. ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
