AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EASTVALE,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 120.04.160 (SHORT-TERM
RENTALS) OF THE EASTVALE MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, Section 120.04.160 of Eastvale Municipal Code contains standards for the prohibition
and enforcement of short-term rentals.
WHEREAS, the City desires to amend this section to expand Ithe definitions related to short-term
rentals.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EASTVALE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 120.04.160(a) of the Eastvale Municipal Code is amended in its entirety to
read as follows (with crossed out words indicating deletions an`d underlined words indicating
additions):
(a) Definitions. For purposes of this section, the following words or phrases shall have the
following meanings:
(1) Person. Any natural person, joint venture, joint stock company, partnership,
association, club, company, corporation, business trust or organization of any
kind.
(2) Short-term rentol. Renting for a period of 30 consecutive calendar days or less any
dwelling unit, the property on which it is located, or the use of the property on
which it is located, in whole or in part, for transient use.
(3) Transient. Any person who exercises occupancy or is entitled to occupancy of a
dwelling unit, the property on which it is located, or the use of the property on
which it is located, in whole or in part, for a period of 30 consecutive calendar days
or less.
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this
Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of
competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the vallidity of the remaining portions of this
Ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance, and each
section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion thereof, irrespective of the
fact that any one or more sections, subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, phrases or
portions thereof be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of thils ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published in accordance with law.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days ;after its passage by the City Council.
