ORDINANCE NUMBER 2012-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EASTVALE, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING A FILING FEE FOR CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE OF SAID
CITY
WHEREAS, there are costs associated with the processing of a candidate's nomination papers for an
elective office at municipal elections held in the City ofEastvale; and
WHEREAS, Section 10228 of the Elections Code of the State of California authorizes a City Council
to impose a filing fee proportionate to the costs of processing a candidate's nomination paper, but not
exceeding $25.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City ofEastvale does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City ofEastvale Chapter XX.XX
to read as follows:
Section XX.XX.JO: A filing fee of $25.00 is hereby established for candidate's
nomination papers for elective offices at municipal elections held in the City ofEastvale
Section XX.XX.20: The filing fee shall be paid to the City Clerk by each candidate for an
elective office at the time the candidate's nomination paper is filed with the City Clerk.
SECTION 2. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published and posted pursuant to the provisions oflaw
in this regard, and this Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage.
